Your R.A.C.E. Vascular Screening

The R.A.C.E. vascular screening program is offered at Baptist Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic, in Suite 302 of the Colonnades medical office building. All screenings are held by appointment. During the screening, a sonographer will place a small, hand-held device, called a transducer, on both sides of your neck and on your abdomen. A nurse will also take blood pressure measurements in your arms and legs. You will also complete a form with information about your health history. There are no blood tests for this screening. The screening will take about 30 minutes.

After you have completed the screening, the nurse will hand off your results to the Baptist R.A.C.E. Screen Team.

The R.A.C.E. Vascular Screen Team

The Baptist R.A.C.E. Screen Team consists of board certified cardiovascular surgeons and vascular nurse practitioners who have specialized training in the care and treatment of patients with vascular disease.

When our team has completed evaluation of your screening, they will provide a report explaining your results. They will also make recommendations for any needed follow-up.

If you have questions about your results, you can call the vascular nurse practitioner, Mary Gordy, at 601-969-7047.
