Spine Center Patient Education

We believe the key to better outcomes is a commitment to educate you and your family. Our team can reduce stress and anxiety by helping you to know what to expect every step of the way. This will also prepare you for a smooth recovery.

Our Spine Center offers a multi-disciplinary class for patients and family before surgery takes place. Both the patient and his or her selected "coach" participate in the program. The topics include pre-operative planning, surgery, the hospital stay, rehabilitation expectations, and discharge planning. Each patient who attends the class receives a comprehensive orientation notebook that serves as an excellent resource before surgery and during the rehabilitation period.

The class is held at Baptist and is presented by the Spine Center Coordinator, physical therapist and case manager. The class is free of charge and limited in size for better patient learning.

The orientation class is reserved for people who have a spinal surgery scheduled at Baptist Medical Center. Pre-registration is required. To register for a class, please call 601-948-6262.

If you are unable to attend class, you may view our patient education videos in the video player below. Click through all the icons to see each video. To return to the playlist, click the "FLOW" button in the upper right corner of the viewer.
