1932 Ford Roadster to Be Auctioned Benefiting Cancer Patients

A 1932 Ford Roadster replica will be auctioned at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss. All proceeds will be donated to the Baptist Health Foundation. The auction will take place during the 36th Annual Dixie Rod Run at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss. The Baptist Health Foundation will utilize the funds to benefit patients treated for cancer at Baptist Cancer Services, a division of Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

Jack Brown donated the roadster to the Mississippi Street Rod Association after his battled cancer. Previously, his wife, Charlotte was diagnosed with breast cancer. She came to Baptist for treatment and grew to love the patients and staff. It was her love for Baptist and the quality of care there that led Jack to Baptist after also being diagnosed with cancer. Through his battle, he confided with is fellow Street Rod member and friend, Eric Knight, in ideas to help other cancer patients in need.
