Combining Christian principles and tools from behavioral sciences, Samaritan professionals offer caring, Biblically-based pastoral counseling. Samaritan counselors believe that mental and emotional illnesses are best helped by both the wisdom of religious teachings and the knowledge and skills of the human behavioral sciences. Baptist's Samaritan Counseling Services has been awarded full accreditation by The Samaritan Institute based in Denver, Colorado, and is fully accredited by the American Association of Pastoral Counseling as a service center and training center. The program also has a consultative relationship with the Wayne E. Oates Institute for its Congregational Health Initiatives.
