Baptist Cardiovascular Services, a division of Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss, received the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association 2009 Gold Performance Achievement Award for its heart failure program. Hospitals receiving this award have reached an aggressive goal of treating heart failure patients with 85 percent or higher compliance to core standard levels of care as outlined by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for 24 consecutive months.
