Promise
A young woman aged 14-18 who demonstrates a commitment to high personal standards

Natalie K. Sandifer

Nominated by her mother, Sherri Sandifer

Sherri says, “ As a mother I am proud, of course, but the personal standards that my daughter lives by are admirable at any age. She always puts God first and truly is our angel here on earth. Both of her older brothers experienced drugs and went to prison. While they were in prison, Natalie sent them letters every day or two. She prayed for them and had everybody she knew praying for them too. She was never ashamed of them. Her love and strength are the only things that got her dad through this time. She began working on her dad to quit smoking. She would find cigarettes and cut them up and hide them. She never gave up and now he has been smoke-free three years. He was also diagnosed with a condition that required him to take chemo for 1 complete year. Natalie always pulled him through it all and she helped me take care of him. She convinced him that he would go into remission and the drugs would work and he started to believe her and try real hard and now he has been in remission for one year. He is now trying to lose 100 pounds and she is his coach. I have no doubt that he will make it. She won't let him give up."
