Cervical, Ovarian and Other Cancers
Our Physicians
Board certified gynecologic oncologists, physicians specializing in gynecologic cancers, are included on the medical staff at Baptist Medical Center. Physicians in this subspecialty are first board certified as Ob/Gyns, and then further certified as gynecologic oncologists. According to the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, a gynecologic oncologist is a board certified women's cancer specialist who has received intensive medical training in the study and treatment of malignancies arising in the female reproductive tract - ovary, endometrium, cervix, vulva and vagina. They are certified with special competence in gynecologic oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
