Since 1911, Baptist has served Mississippi as a Christian-based, non-profit comprehensive medical center. Today, Baptist Medical Center is part of a growing network that makes comprehensive health care, health education, health risk assessments and wellness more accessible than ever before. Accreditations
Baptist's commitment to service means adhering to high standards in every aspect of patient care. Because of this, we seek membership with organizations whose purpose is to ensure that all members provide high quality care and services. Membership with these organizations is voluntary. Following are some of Baptist's accredited or certified programs, along with accrediting or certifying body:

- Baptist Breast Health Services, Outpatient Infusion and Radiation Oncology, JC Disease-Specific Care Certification for Breast Cancer
- Baptist for Women, Center for Breast Health, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
- Baptist Cardiovascular Services, JC Disease-Specific Care Certification in the areas of Acute Coronary Syndrome and Heart Failure; The Society of Chest Pain Centers for the care of patients with chest pain ; 2008 Sustained "Get With the Guidelines" for Heart Failure
