Coronary Artery Disease, a condition in which the blood vessels that feed the heart are blocked, is the most common form of heart disease and the number one cause of death in the United States. To detect and treat this condition, Baptist Cardiovascular Services provides a number of diagnostic tests, ranging from noninvasive procedures such as cardiac stress testing, nuclear cardiology, echocardiology, vascular ultrasound, Holter monitors, EKG, cardiac CT scans and others. Invasive diagnostic procedures include cardiac catheterization.

For patients diagnosed with coronary artery disease, Baptist offers treatment options ranging from catheterization with balloon angioplasty and stenting—including drug-eluting stents—vascular brachytherapy, to open heart surgery, including coronary artery bypass with grafting (CABG).
