Richard B. Friedman, DMD, MD
Dr. Friedman, who serves as Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Baptist, earned his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University. He then completed a degree in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, before serving as Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska School of Dentistry and Director of the Adult General Dentistry program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He earned a master's degree in Health Policy and Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then served as Chairman of the Division of Dental Medicine and Director of the General Practice Residency Program at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, and Associate Professor at MCV/VCU Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. He earned his medical degree and completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Virginia, and served for twenty-one years in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Dr. Friedman is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Radiology, and is Board Certified in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Friedman is a member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, the American Medical Association, and the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
