2020 Awards

Baptist Memorial Health Care

• Baptist Union County, Baptist DeSoto, Baptist North Mississippi, Baptist Golden Triangle and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center received the Baby Friendly^® hospital designation. This prestigious international award recognizes hospitals and birthing centers that offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.
• Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County were awarded “A” ratings in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. Baptist Golden Triangle achieved an “A” for the eighth consecutive year and is the only hospital in Mississippi to have received “A’s” every year for patient safety since Leapfrog began grading hospitals in 2012.
• Baptist Booneville, Baptist Union County, Baptist North Mississippi, Baptist Union City and Baptist Golden Triangle were recognized by Premiere Inc.'s 2020 QUEST Awards for high-value health care.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville

• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Booneville has been rated as a top hospital in Mississippi by Becker’s Hospital Review for patient experience. Baptist Booneville is one of only three hospitals in the state to receive a five-star rating.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton

• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton was one of only 18 hospitals recognized as “BEST for Babies” for efforts to reduce infant deaths by the Tennessee Department of Health and Tennessee Hospital Association.

2019 Awards

Baptist Memorial Health Care

• Baptist Carroll County, Baptist North Mississippi, NEA Baptist Hospital, Baptist Golden Triangle Baptist Memphis and Baptist DeSoto have earned American College of Cardiology chest pain center accreditation. Hospitals receiving the accreditation must take part in a multi-faceted clinical process that includes a rigorous onsite review and monitoring for sustained success. They also have organized a team of doctors, nurses, clinicians and other administrative staff that support efforts leading to better patient education and improved patient outcomes.
• Baptist DeSoto, Baptist Memphis and Baptist North Mississippi won American Heart Association (AHA) Get With the Guidelines Stroke Awards for following the AHA's treatment guidelines for stroke care.
• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County earned ‘A’s’ on The Leapfrog Group’s spring 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. Baptist Golden Triangle achieved an “A” for the seventh consecutive year and is the only hospital in Mississippi – and one of only 41 in the United States – to have received “A’s” for patient safety since Leapfrog began grading hospitals in 2012.

• The Collierville Chamber of Commerce's "Excellence in Business Awards 2019" recognized Baptist Centers for Good Grief as the Healthcare Provider of the Year. This award recognizes an organization that reflects extraordinary efforts in healthcare

Mississippi Baptist Medical Center

• Mississippi Baptist Medical Center was included in Becker's Healthcare's list of "100 great hospitals in America." The hospitals included on this list have been recognized nationally for excellence in clinical care, patient outcomes, and staff and physician satisfaction. These institutions are industry leaders that have achieved advanced accreditation and certification in several specialties. The list also includes industry innovators that have sparked trends in health care technology, hospital management and patient satisfaction.

• Baptist has won a Best in Benefits award for offering the best benefit plans compared with their peer groups.
• Baptist Golden Triangle, Baptist North Mississippi, Baptist Union City, Baptist Union County and Mississippi Baptist Medical Center earned “A’s” on The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2018 Hospital Safety Grade. The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Grade recognizes hospitals’ efforts in meeting the highest safety standards in the United States. The Leapfrog Group is a national organization committed to improving health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. The Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their ability to maintain patient safety in the hospital.

Mississippi Baptist Medical Center

Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women

• Baptist Women’s Hospital won the Large Business of the Year award from the Germantown Chamber of Commerce.

• Baptist became the first organization in the world to receive a 10-star rating from Epic, one of the largest electronic health record providers in the nation. The distinction means that Baptist has adopted more of Epic’s nearly 700 “Gold Star items” than any other health care organization.
• Premier Inc., a leading health care improvement company, awarded Baptist Collierville, Baptist Golden Triangle, Baptist Huntingdon, Baptist Tipton, Baptist Union City, Baptist Union County and Baptist Women’s Hospital the 2017 QUEST^® award for consistently providing outstanding patient care and setting a high standard in clinical excellence.
• Baptist Golden Triangle, Baptist North Mississippi, Baptist Union City and Baptist Union County earned four consecutive A's on the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Scores survey. • Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto received the 2016 Mission: Lifeline^® Receiving Center Silver Recognition Award for adhering to all STEMI Receiving Center Performance Achievement indicators at least 85 percent of the time for 12 consecutive months and complying with each performance measure at least 75 percent of the time.
• Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto was named a Blue Distinction Center of Excellence for cardiac care by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle

• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle received the Mission: Lifeline^® Gold Receiving Center Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the AHA for the treatment of patients who suffer STEMIs.
• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle received the East Mississippi Community College’s Workforce Services “Best Practices Award”.

NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital

• NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital was recognized as a Blue Distinction Center (Center of Excellence) for maternity by Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi

• The ambulance service at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline^® EMS Silver Award for implementing quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experience ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMIs).

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County

• Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County was one of only three hospitals in the nation that received the Quest award for achieving top performance in all seven of the areas measured in Premier’s Quest collaborative, including: cost and efficiency, inpatient and outpatient evidence-based care, mortality, safety, patient experience, and appropriate hospital use.
