Baptist HealthTeacher is a web-based health curriculum for K-12 teachers that provides a comprehensive online resource to educators to teach good health habits to the youth in our state. The mission of Baptist HealthTeacher is to instill lifelong health habits and personal responsibility into today’s youth with the goal to dramatically change the health of our state — forever.
Baptist HealthTeacher meets national and state health education standards, contains cross-curricular information, has access to numerous background resources and is customizable to each school’s needs. The HealthTeacher library contains more than 300 lesson plans organized around 10 health topics:
A local Baptist HealthTeacher facilitator, called a Health Education Coordinator, travels to the schools to train teachers in its application and to help reinforce the lessons, answer questions and evaluate the program’s use.
