Baptist Health Foundation
We are pleased to announce Danny R. Rutland has returned to Baptist Health Systems as Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Danny originally joined Baptist in 1989 and established the department we currently call the Baptist Health Foundation. Fundraising and charitable giving were never a major emphasis at Baptist until Danny launched the program.
Prior to Danny’s return, Jim Moore provided four and a half years of leadership for the Foundation. Jim had agreed to come out of retirement for a short while to provide guidance, manage the growth and bring Baptist to an entirely new level with the Cancer Services campaign. We wish Jim the best in his retirement and look forward to many years of successful fundraising with Danny.
During the 12 years between his employment at Baptist Health Systems, Danny served as the Vice President of Advancement/Alumni Affairs at Mississippi College where he was involved with two successful major campaigns. One campaign surpassed its goal of $80 million, and the other was well on its way to its $65,000 goal when Danny left to join Baptist. He is married to the former Melesia Williams, and they have two daughters and one grandson.
