Talking About Colorectal Cancer
Perhaps you’ve felt too embarrassed to ask questions about colorectal cancer. But don’t be embarrassed to death. According to the American Cancer Society, after skin cancer, cancers of the colon and rectum are the third most common type of cancer in America. But when discovered early, colorectal cancers can be successfully treated. Attend our free seminar, featuring gastroenterologist Reed B. Hogan, M.D., to learn what you can do to reduce your risk.

Super Sitters Baby Sitting Class
Baptist Medical Center will host “Super Sitters” class is recommended for ages 11 to 15 years of age. The class teaches essential babysitting skills and last from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be a class held March 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The cost is $45, which includes books, boxed lunch and snack. Baptist Hosts Free Creative Arts Program for Cancer Patients
Baptist Cancer Services offers a creative arts program, including knitting, and art therapy for cancer patients at no cost. All events take place in the Hederman Cancer Center. Call the Baptist Health Line to register at 1-800-948-6262 or 601-948-6262.
* “Knit Together” is held every third Tuesday of the month at noon.
* “Art Therapy” will be held each Wednesday at noon.
Free Cancer Support Group - HOPE (Helping Others Providing Empathy)
Baptist Cancer Services has created a new cancer support group for all types of cancer patients called “HOPE,” which means Helping Others, Providing Empathy.

Baptist Offers Free Cancer Rehab Classes
Baptist's Cancer Rehab Program is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. every week at no cost in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center, 1227 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. To register, call the Baptist Health Line at 1-800-948-6262 or 601-948-6262. The class helps cancer patients enhance cardiovascular strength and endurance and immune system and bone density. It helps to increase overall strength and stamina, decrease fatigue, weight loss and improve digestion.
Diabetes Support Group
The Diabetes Support group meets the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in Suite 410 of the Medical Arts Building West on State Street. The upcoming free meetings will be held on March 6.
