Baptist Hosts Free Creative Arts Program for Cancer Patients
Editors please NOTE Summer dates for ART THERAPY FOR CANCER PATIENTS
Baptist Cancer Services offers a creative arts program, including knitting, and art therapy for cancer patients at no cost. All events take place in the Hederman Cancer Center. Call the Baptist Health Line to register at 1-800-948-6262 or 601-948-6262.
*  “Knit Together” is held every third Tuesday of the month at noon.
*  “Art Therapy” will be held at noon July 9, and August 13 during the summer.

Expectant Grandparents Free Class Hosted by Baptist
Expectant grandparents can prepare for their new roles with Baptist Medical Center's Grandparenting Class. The session covers changes in labor and delivery and the focus on family-centered maternity care. The agenda also includes a refresher on baby feeding and safety and a discussion of basic diplomacy for the newly extended family.

Car Seat Safety Check
Because vehicles and infant car seat styles vary, learning how to position your infant car seat securely isn’t easy. Fortunately, expert help is available. Join Mississippi SafeKids and Baptist for Women for a car seat safety check. Professionals can teach you how to install your car seat properly and also check your already-installed car seat to see if it is positioned correctly.

Lunch & Learn: Freedom from Bladder Leaking:  You Don’t Have to Live This Way
Incontinence is a common, but troublesome, problem that affects many women. And unfortunately, it can affect your quality of life if it causes you to avoid activities you enjoy, such as walking, jogging, or social outings. But, there’s good news about urinary incontinence: many conditions that cause it can be treated without requiring hospitalization. Join Baptist and guest speakers Dr. Robert L. Harris and Dr. Steven E. Speights, both urogynecologists, for this free seminar to learn more about the types and causes of incontinence and new treatments available. Lunch is provided for those who register.

Baptist Offers Free Cancer Rehab Classes
Baptist's Cancer Rehab Program is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. every week at no cost in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center, 1227 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. To register, call the Baptist Health Line at 1-800-948-6262 or 601-948-6262. The class helps cancer patients enhance cardiovascular strength and endurance and immune system and bone density. It helps to increase overall strength and stamina, decrease fatigue, weight loss and improve digestion.
