Four Tuesdays in February Cancer Topics
These lunchtime seminars offer participants the convenience of the lunch hour to gain practical information for managing cancer. The seminars, which include a box lunch, are free. Registration is required. All seminars are held at noon in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center. February 5—“Cancer and Employment Rights”; February 12—“Who Can Think of Food at a Time Like This?”; February 19—“Cancer ... Menopause: A Hot Topic
OB/GYNs Jesse C. Ethridge M.D., and Thomas L. Children’s tummies can be the source of lots of health questions for Mom and Dad. In this free seminar, Pediatric Gastroenterologist April Ulmer, M.D., will talk about infants’ and kids’ gastrointestinal (GI) issues ranging from constipation to irritable bowel syndrome to rectal bleeding. Janna McIntosh, R.D., a registered dietitian at the Baptist Nutrition Center, will provide diet information.

Baptist Hosts Free Creative Arts Program for Cancer Patients

Free Cancer Support Group - HOPE (Helping Others Providing Empathy)
Baptist Cancer Services has created a new cancer support group for all types of cancer patients called “HOPE,” which means Helping Others, Providing Empathy.
Dates: Second Thursday of the month: February 14, March 13

Baptist Offers Free Cancer Rehab Classes
Baptist's Cancer Rehab Program is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. every week at no cost in the Activity Room of the Hederman Cancer Center, 1227 North State Street, Jackson, Miss. To register, call the Baptist Health Line at 1-800-948-6262 or 601-948-6262. The class helps cancer patients enhance cardiovascular strength and endurance and immune system and bone density. It helps to increase overall strength and stamina, decrease fatigue, weight loss and improve digestion.
Diabetes Support Group
The Diabetes Support group meets the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in Suite 410 of the Medical Arts Building West on State Street. The upcoming free meetings will be held on February 7, March 6
