Art Therapy for Cancer Patients: Discovering the Artist in You
Baptist Cancer Services off ers a free series of art workshops designed to help cancer patients and provide an outlet to express feelings, reduce stress, assist in pain management, help build positive coping skills and increase self-discovery and self-awareness. The program includes art supplies. Classes are led by Susan Anand in the Activities Room of the Hederman Cancer Center on Wednesdays at Noon January 4 - March 8. Registration is required
Chronic Heartburn: Relief from the Burn
If you have severe indigestion or a burning sensation in your chest, have a sour or bitter-tasting fluid fl owing up into your throat or mouth, have acid backing up in your throat when you lie down or bend over or experience hoarseness or chronic unexplained cough, you might have Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Join a free seminar presented by Bobby Stokes, RN, Nurse Coordinator for the Heartburn Evaluation and Treatment Program at Baptist. You will learn what causes the health problems it can lead to if untreated; treatment options; and the techniques and technology used to evaluate GERD. Heart Month Kickoff : Drop Your Risk of Heart Disease
Join Baptist Heart Services, MIX 98.7 and Northpark Mall for our kickoff of Heart Month at Northpark Mall from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a “balloon drop” at noon. The event will feature a “balloon drop” for qualified participants. A number of Northpark stores are providing prizes, and every balloon will contain at least one prize. To qualify, simply attend one of Baptist Women’s Heart’s free, short educational sessions, “Drop Your Risk of Heart Disease”—scheduled during January —to learn how you can decrease your risk of heart disease and heart attack. Choose either:

No registration is required for the Heart Month Kickoff at Northpark. However, registration is required for a qualifying “Drop Your Risk of Heart Disease” session.
Urinary Incontinence: Current Treatments
Baptist Women’s Services will this free seminar on February 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Northpark Mall. The guest speaker is Charles Secrest, M.D. Learn more about the types and causes of incontinence and the treatments available.
What’s New in Infertility Treatments
Today, medical advances are refi ning fertility treatments and making them easier to deliver.
