Baptist Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Reunion to be Held April 12

Jackson, Miss. - April 3, 2003 - Baptist Medical Center will hold its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Reunion on Saturday, April 12, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the picnic area behind Baptist Medical Center.

Premature babies or babies with an illness are placed in the NICU at Baptist, and according to Robby Channell, Baptist spokesman, this event is a reunion for parents, their toddlers or children, physicians and nurses.

"The birth of a premature infant is a journey few are aware of unless they are faced with the overwhelming experience," Channell said. "Families that have had infants spending time in the NICU get to know the nurses, physicians and Baptist staff; so this reunion gives us an opportunity to get reacquainted with the former patients."
