American Heart Association Names Baptist Health Systems One of Mississippi's Top Ten CPR Training Centers

Jackson, Miss. - August 11, 2003 -- The Mississippi Region of the American Heart Association (AHA) recently announced the Top Ten CPR Training Centers for 2003. A Training Center is an organization, which has contracted with the AHA to provide basic and/or advanced adult and pediatric life support training courses to the community it serves.
Baptist's Education Resource Center was recently recognized as one of the Top Ten Training Centers in emergency cardiovascular care and received an Outstanding Effort Award from AHA

Awards are presented to the Top Ten Training Centers by highest numbers of people trained. Mississippi's 34 Training Centers trained approximately 58,000 people in the life-saving skills of basic and advanced life support in fiscal year 2002. Baptist trained over 3,800 individuals.

"The Baptist staff is honored to provide training in basic and/or advanced adult and pediatric life support procedures to help save lives and reduce disabilities for the staff and community," said Brenda Castleberry, Baptist Education Resource Center director.
