Baptist Adult Day Health Services Hosts Free Caregiver Seminar Jackson, Miss. - October 6, 2003 - Baptist Adult Day Health Service is now taking registration for a Caregiver Seminar Wednesday, November 5 from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the conference room of Trace Pointe Retirement Community located at 501 E. Northside Drive in Clinton, Miss. The seminar is open to the community and is free, but pre-registration is required. Seating is limited. The seminar will focus on practical caregiving issues. Dr. Charlie Boudreaux of First Baptist Church Jackson will lead a seminar that focuses on the common emotional responses to loss and will also identify issues related to self-care. Dr. Boudreaux will explore the reasons why the caregivers should take care of themselves in the daily responsibilities of caregiving. Dr. Tom Moseley of University Medical Center will lead a seminar on research issues and understanding Alzheimer's' Disease. Dr. Moseley has extensive experience in this area and will offer a medical perspective to understanding this disease. The last section of the seminar will include a panel discussion of caregivers that will be moderated by Baptist Chaplain Marty Harper. The panel will include spouses and children who have loved ones with Alzheimer's' Disease. The panel will share their personal journeys in caregiving and offer practical suggestions for how to handle day-to-day tasks of caregiving.
